Maruti Suzuki Dzire : For close to two decades now, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has a common sight on Indian roads, stealing hearts with its mix of practicality, frugality and value.
And now, in a noteworthy move that has the motoring fraternity abuzz, Maruti Suzuki has launched an all-new Dzire, one which cleverly rises above being just a Swift with a boot to carve a niche of its own.
With this extensive design overhaul, the much-loved compact sedan reflects the ideal blend of rich features, bolstered luxury and high level of sophistication along with retaining the core value of a best-in-class.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire A Stand-Alone Design
The 2025 Dzire One look and the most obvious change is this – it no longer looks like the Swift hatchback.
That marked departure defines the Dzire’s individuality with a bold front-end design that is highlighted by a wide chrome grille with a horizontal slat and an oversized Suzuki logo that helps elevate its road presence.
“The first impression I got was of the premium looks compared with the outgoing model,” says Rajesh Kumar, who recently test-drove the new Dzire at a dealership in Delhi.
“Now it doesn’t look like something that’s been Swifted and had a boot stuck on the back of it — it has its own identity.”
The front end is replete with stylish LED projector headlamps complemented by a unique arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights for that added dash of elegance.
Twist to the side, and while the Dzire doesn’t look as proportioned quite nicely, it is still a case of aesthetic clean lines which results in an attractive appearance, enhanced by sporty looking 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on higher trims.
At the back, the Dzire is defined by perhaps one of its most noticeable styling cues – Y-shaped LED tail lamps that are joined by a subtle strip of chrome, lending the car a premium, wide look.
The tastefully done subtle spoiler embedded into the boot lid finishes the premium sweet taste, and a good looking aura- Dzire could be a little more upmarket than what it has to offer at the price!
Enveloped in alluring premium colours to choose from, the all new Dzire is high yet handsome with easy-steering that takes you on a sporty-dream ride along with superior protection, 7 such shades including Gallant Red and Alluring Blue, just for you!
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Comfort and Convenience in a Cabin
Open the door to the new Dzire and you’re welcomed by a completely new and plush interior that complements the exterior elements.
The interior also comes in dual-tone beige-black with minimal wood finish insert on the dash and door panels, which give premium feel to the cabin.
The dashboard is dominated by the free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that does an endless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration smartphone integration wirelessly fast and easy.
The display is crystal and the interface is easy to use through many driving capabilities.
In terms of comfort, the new Dzire comes loaded with comfort goodies and is equipped with automatic climate control to maintain temperature of the cabin irrespective of what the weather holds for outside.
The Rear AC vents, a segment-first, to make sure that the back-seat passengers do not feel the heat – even during the hot summers (India).
The feature is exciting inclusion in the top-spec variant and one that was hitherto unseen in the segment, again giving the car a premium feel.
Other niceties include a wireless charging pad, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start and a height-adjustable driver’s seat which enables folk of various statures to get comfortable behind the wheel.
There’s been a huge improvement in interior quality, says automotive journalist Priya Sharma.
“The materials feel higher-end, the fit and finish is better and there are thoughtful touches throughout the cabin that just incrementally enhance the experience.”
Space The Dzire offers more space than appears in such a small form outside. At 2450mm the wheelbase is on the long side giving plenty of leg room in the back making it a practical family proposition.
As far as boot volume is concerned, it is quite satisfactory with 382 liters, so enough for the luggage in a long weekend or an airport drive ( reduced in CNG because of the cylinder fitting).
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Heart of the Matter: Performance versus Efficiency
Power for the new Dzire comes from a 1.2-litre Z12E engine which makes 81PS/111Nm enough to offer a good blend between performance and fuel efficiency in petrol guise.
The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as well as a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), depending on which variant it is coupled with.
Well, for ‘economical run’, Maruti also provides a factory-fitted CNG option also which produces 69PS and 101Nm output with greater fuel efficiency as well.
On the other hand, the gasoline trims of the new Dzire offer a claimed fuel mileage of 24.79 to 25.71 kmpl, the CNG variant accomplishes an astonishing 33.73 Kmpl, which makes it one of the most fuel-efficient sedans in its segment.
It feels nimble and effortless out on the road, with light controls that make it a doddle to drive around town.
The suspension is a good mix of pliant and controlled — soaking up potholes while being quite composed at highway speeds.
“What struck me was how smooth this engine feels,” says Vikas Mehta, a recent owner of the new Dzire.
“It’s calm, free of vibrations and with sufficient punch for overtaking when you need. And real-world fuel economy is great – around 22 kmpl on mixed driving.”
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Safety: A Top Priority
As an improvement over its predecessor, the car now features a 5-star crash test safety rating which makes it one of the safer compact sedans in the nation.
This is a milestone that reflects Maruti Suzuki’s commitment towards strengthening safety of its People.
Standard safety equipment comes in form of six airbags (dual front, side and curtain), disc brakes with ABS and EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), ESP (electronic stability program) with hill hold control as well as ISOFIX child seat mounts ensuring that safety of all the passengers is taken care of.
Higher-end versions also get a 360-degree camera system that makes squeezing into a parking spot much easier, as well as a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for added peace of mind.
These safety features are to address one of the few negative aspects that could be found with older Maruti Suzuki vehicles, proving that the manufacturer is willing to take on board changing consumer demands and legislative obligations.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Variant Strategy and Pricing
Different budgets, different needs, and the Dzire covers it all The Dzire is offered in four main trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi+ – ranging from a budget spec, to progressively providing more features as you go up the trim structure.
Base LXi model, despite being the entry variant, comes equipped with must have features such as power windows, manual air conditioning and minimum on safety with dual airbags and ABS available as standard.
At the VXi trim, you get more features such as the music system with smartphone connectivity, steering-mounted controls and more comfort features.
The ZXi adds the alloy wheels and the automatic climate control and the larger infotainment screen, while the top-end ZXi+ comes with all the bells and whistles, including the sunroof, 360-degree camera and wireless charger.
The 2025 Dzire is priced between Rs 6.84 lakh (for the base LXi trim) to Rs 10.19 lakh (for the range-topping ZXi+ AMT) and will compete in the compact sedan segment.
The CNG trims are priced approximately Rs. 95,000 over the petrol models, and are claimed to compensate the premium and offer savings on fuel in the long term.
This pricing sees the Dzire compete head-on with the likes of the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor, but the bling it brings to the table in terms of features, space and efficiency gives it a clear edge.
Market Response and Sales A report in D Game focused on two parts: market reaction and sales results.
The Dzire has been one of India’s top selling sedans and the new one has only strengthened its standing.
In just March of 2025, it sold over 15,000 units of the Dzire which was more than the cars of entire other sedan segment from mass market in India and that showed what an icon this car was.
A lot of people may not consider Cars from Maruti Suzuki as Premium considering the Price, Driving Pleasure or even the Segment that they fit in, we cannot ignore the Success that their Cars have achieved be it in terms of Quality, Value, Service, or Sales.
“The Dzire has been practical, now it’s also aspirational,” says Sanjay Gupta, an automotive market analyst.
“Its high-end feel, well-appointed cabin and significantly upgraded safety make it a winner for both head and heart. That’s a winning combination in the Indian market.”
Maruti Suzuki Dzire The Ownership Experience
Over and above the product, Maruti Suzuki’s widespread sales and service setup still remains a key attraction for the buyers.
Service With more than 2,500 service centres across India, owners can expect easy and inexpensive service irrespective of where they live.
The Dzire comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or 100,000 kms, which makes them confident enough to buy. There are also optional extended warranty plans for further peace of mind.
Also, low service costs and great parts availability make the ownership experience the best. And nothing else comes even close for total cost of ownership over the life of the vehicle.”
